RAINER WERNER FASSBINDER, IL FAUTORE DEL NUOVO
Nato il 31 maggio 1945 a Bad Wörishofen in Germania, e fondatore, con Alexander Kluge, del Nuovo cinema tedesco, Rainer Werner Fassbinder ha firmato numerosi lungometraggi, testi teatrali, radiodrammi, regie teatrali, serie TV e si produsse anche come attore. Tra i suoi film, significativo ma poco esaminato, figura Effi Briest (1974), dall’omonimo romanzo di Theodor Fontane (Fontane – Effi Briest oder: Viele, die eine Ahnung haben von ihren Möglichkeiten und Bedürfnissen und dennoch das herrschende System in ihrem Kopf akzeptieren durch ihre Taten und es somit festigen und durchaus bestätigen), presentato nel 1974 al Festival di Berlino. Fontane, che morì nel 1898, ha pubblicato il romanzo, tre anni prima, ossia nel 1895. Nei film precedenti, Fassbinder si è sempre ispirato a temi attualissimi, mentre per Effi Briest ha rivolto lo sguardo su un’opera ottocentesca.
